What we do

We are a social enterprise specializing in research and consulting.

Knowledge Lab Mesoamerica and Knowledge Lab Andes (MKL) is a social s and collaborative enterprise[1] that gathers more than two decades of interdisciplinary/multi-cosmovisionary research and development in the Mesoamerica and Andean region of its partners.

Mesoamerica and the Andes have one of the richest ethnical and biodiversity regions of the world, and the MKL profits from its significant experience designing, implementing and evaluating organizations, projects and programs with all sorts of organizational process within these social, political and ethnical system.

We have worked with all kinds of international, national, regional and local level organizations in the public, private and civil  sectors either formal and/or informal (associative work). With these organizations, we had researched and developed all kinds of information, statistics and strategies to further develop and strengthen work and impact of these organizations.

As part of the interdisciplinary/multi-cosmovisionary approach, very often we promote the creation and exchange of knowledge through activities among the actors on the territories in order to create meaningful and reciprocal understandings that generate social-environmental-economical knowledge/capacities.

MKL bring together experts with imagination and insight from across different disciplinary/cosmovisionary backgrounds in order to:

  • Undertake cutting edge research and development.
  • Provide innovative interdisciplinary/multi-cosmovisionary knowledge and management activities.
  • Create and develop innovative and empowering methods and learning tools with proper technologies for communication and information (according with the social and economic context) to widen access and lower barriers to acquire knowledge.
  • Support organizational development through research and development implementing strategies, policies,  and/or partnerships
  • Design and implement evident based strategies and/or polices
  • Lead and/or systematize participatory processes for the construction of knowledge, indicators, variables, key process indicators (KPI).
  • Research and develop local/community based alternative development (livelihoods and enterprises facilitation).
  • We design governance strategies and innovative financial instruments associated with the programmatic, adaptive, financial and leadership capacity of organizations.
